Warrant Group is celebrating 40 years in business as it embraces an ambitious new chapter in its long-established history.

More than four decades after the business was first launched in 1985, Managing Director John Gibbs is leading the business through an exciting period of new partnerships and fresh growth.

From its beginnings as Warrant Maritime, to its long-standing work in the export chemical, food and drink and recycled commodities sectors, Warrant has embraced innovation to deliver exceptional customer service. This is demonstrated throughout all areas of the business including more than 15 years of sustained growth in the inbound supply chain market.

In 2023, it became an employee-owned trust, bringing the employees into the heart of the decision-making processes, and relocated to new offices at the Brunswick Business Park in Liverpool.

Following the launch of its new yachting division in 2024, Warrant became the Official Logistics Supplier for the Clipper 2025-26 Race.

The team is closely following the fortunes of the yacht, Team Warrant which is currently circumnavigating the globe.

Today, Warrant Group’s commitment to delivering exact fit supply chain solutions on a global scale remains as strong as ever.

Managing Director John Gibbs said: “Warrant has an impressive history of growth and diversification across the last 40 years. Embedded in the business is a can-do attitude and a real commitment to delivering exceptional customer service as a trusted logistics partner.

“The team is passionate about growing the business in new directions while building on the expertise and industry knowledge of the last four decades.

“I would like to thank everyone who has made Warrant Group what it is today. The logistics sector is one of the oldest industries in the world and we are exceptionally proud to be part of it.”

Warrant Group was formed in 1985 and developed a range of services in sea, port agency, air cargo and port logistics as well as creating a recycled commodities division.

Visionary leader, Ian Jones took ownership of the business in 2011 and developed its supply chain management and IT products.

Ian Jones and joint shareholder, Lynsey Morrison, stepped back from the day-to-day running of the business in 2023 and joined Warrant Group’s Board of Directors.

John Gibbs joined the team as Managing Director in April 2024.
